Welcome Ashton!
Class of 99 was at the game celebrating their 10 year reunion, it was great to see everyone! I can't believe it will be our 10 year reunion next year...time has flown by. I was walking in front of the cheerleaders and one called me Mam. I know she should have, after all I am pregnant and holding a toddler on my hip which screams to her.....old lady. It doesn't seem long ago that I was standing in her position getting ready to start a cheer and thinking about how old people were if they were at the game celebrating their 10 year reunion. Ha, now I know it's not old at all.
Sunday we enjoyed the Fall Festival at church!
Ashton getting spider man painted on his cheek. We stopped by the park on the way home and Chris was on lunch break so he got to join us. The weather was perfect!

Potty Dance
Colby 22 months old- Potty Time
This was right after he did his business..that's why he already has his sucker. He sits there forever and says "no" when I ask if he is all done. I guess he wants to make sure, LOL!
This was after he dumped his poo in the big potty....enjoy the potty dance!
Potty Update
At one point I was questioning the early start potty training by Dr. Linda Sonna
but now I would recommend it to friend. After all, it promises that your child will be potty trained by the age of two and I can say it worked! It says that by using the techniques at a young age that your child can be potty trained anywhere between the ages of 12 months-2years. Colby was at the end of the spectrum but nonetheless he made it. Dr. Sonna says that this technique eliminates or greatly decreases the chances of being a bed wetter. She says that prolonged bed wetting is usually a result of late potty training. So, hopefully Colby will escape the chances of being a bed wetter since his father and I both were bed wetters for many years.
Colby is 22 months old and is:
100% potty trained at home when in the nude. If he is nude, he just goes when he needs to and doesn't even tell me.
99.9% at home in clothes. He usually tells me in time but he has an accident once every couple of days.99.5% in underwear in public.
95% in pull-ups in public.
After talking to many parents and doing a lot of research I have come to this conclusion:
You can potty train early and it's a long process but it saves you a whole year or more of diaper changes and maybe many years of bed wetting or you can wait until three years old and potty train in just a few days. I guess it depends on how much work you are willing to do and how long you can stand cleaning poop!
When we are in public we have to take him constantly because sometimes he waits too late to tell us and we can't get to a restroom quick enough. He told me had to teetee going down the road and thank goodness I was passing a friends house and we were able to stop and use her bathroom. We do have one problem...Colby teetees when he gets mad. If we are home and he is nude then we say no and he stops and runs to the potty to finish but if he has on clothes, it's a problem. Hopefully he will grow out of this soon!
Potty Training is definitely an adventure to say the least!

More Potty Improvements!!!!
So..I told him suckers were only for poop in the potty. He got so excited and tried all day! He kept saying poopoo and running to the bathroom. I would follow behind him and try to cheer him on but he would only teetee. I remembered reading an article by John Rosemond and it said that some boys are private poopers and can't poop with an audience. It was bedtime and Colby had not pooped all day, and I knew he had to. We were getting his PJ's on and he said poopoo so I told Chris just to let him go in there by himself and sure enough...he is a private pooper. He sat there for 5 minutes and did his business! He told us when he was done and wanted his sucker. I was soooo excited!
We stayed home ( besides little trips to the store) all week and really practiced so today was our first big outing in underwear. We went to Sing & Sign class and as soon as we made it to the hospital, he used the potty. I was very shocked because for the last two days he has stood up to teetee but he couldn't reach this potty so he had to sit but he still did great! Well, he got really excited about class and had a teetee accident. I knew it would happen because he is so comfortable at home and he walks around in is birthday suit which makes it really easy to do his business. I told him that it was okay but try to tell me sooner. He didn't have another accident, made it all the way home, fell asleep and still stayed dry. I transferred him to the bed where he remained dry and waited until he woke up to go potty!! I'm so thrilled at the progress he has made....thank goodness for bribery!!
This was him talking to his Gammy on the phone and trying to explain that he had used the potty all day!
Our goal is to be completely potty trained by two and we have 2 more months....I think we can do it!!!

Potty Training
I found out just how strong-willed he is yesterday. I know that he understands the concept completley but just wasn't doing it consistently because he just didn't won't to. He loves getting suckers at the bank so I went to the store and got some suckers. I told him if he used the potty, he could get a sucker. He didn't have one accident all day! I knew it....I knew he was just being strong-willed. He still wants to use his little potty, but I was surprised he stood up everytime, aimed perfectly, and went by himself everytime. Hello....this boy has understood for awhile. I realized I had to come up with something different because he can't walk around with a sucker all day and he threw a fit because I brushed his teeth so many times LOL! I'm paranoid about cavities. I can't help it my mom is in denistry (she brainwashed me HA). Today I went and bought some smarties and he gets two everytime he uses the potty. I know... it's still candy and probably a bad idea but at least it's better than sucking on a sucker all day. I know....all the experts say never reward with candy or food but it's what works for Colby, so we aren't listening to experts anymore when it comes to the potty department! I also went today and got pull-ups for when we are out and about. I've also read never use pull-ups because it delays potty training but like I said, "not listening anymore". He stays in the nude or in underwear at home, but I think we will start out with pull-ups in public....don't really won't to clean carseat cushion everytime we take a ride! Maybe he will do great in public because he is going by himself and he is telling me has to go FINALLY!!!
Now I have to convince him to use a big potty in public....this might take a whole cake LOL!!

Double Stroller Maddness!!
I go a lot of places during the week such as story time, playgroups, bible study etc., and I need something easy to get out and get from the parking lot to the desination without Colby running for the hills while I'm trying to get Chase situated. So I think the
Joovy Caboose Ultralight Stand-On Tandem Stroller
will work out perfect because it's really light weight and compact but serves the purpose. I can attach the carseat now and when Chase is big enough to ride in the front Colby can either stand in the back or sit on the backseat. It will be perfect for him because he doesn't like to be strapped in and he will love standing up for the ride!
The only thing that stinks is it's not offered in the store and has to be ordered on-line.
