Learning to Laugh

Colby learned to laugh and now he laughs like it's going out of style!

This week is my last week to be at home with my little man, and I'm soaking up every minute of it. Chris I and went to see a movie yesterday for our Valentine date and I had the worst seperation anxiety. I don't really know how I will make it going from 7:00-3:00 everyday and not seeing his precious face and kissing his chubby cheeks. I've been with him for 11 weeks now, and it's definetly not long enough. I tried to return to my job next August but it didn't work out. The school district was going to have to hire a certified teacher, and if she wanted to keep the job then she could but if there was an opening then I could have my job back. It was a hard decision because I love my job and the openings at my school are rare. I decided to go back since I'm blessed enough to have my mother keep Colby. If my mother was not able to keep Colby then I would have definetly given up my job! She is going to come to my house each morning and keep him until I return at 3:00. I normally stay at school until 5:00 and get a lot of extra things done, but that won't be in my future anymore.

This is when I broke the news to Colby that I was going back to work :(!

Colby is doing great and still getting chunkier and chunkier! He still has a little bit of gas problems. He woke up at 5:30 crying, pulling his legs up, and passing gas like a grown man. Chris held an ice bag of warm water over his belly and I exercised his legs in the bicycle motion. This is a wonderful method to get trapped gas out of your baby. It works so well and it's funny too, the harder we bicyle the louder he poots. We were cracking up this morning because he was actually laughing, I guess because it felt good!

Well thats the scoop in our life! I hear colby waking up on the monitor, he can feel meal time coming on!
