Zebra Sneezes

We took a little walk on the wild side at the Wildlife Ranch!

Getting up close and personal with the barn animals!
Chase was beside himself.....he was giddy the entire time!
Can I mommy....
it will be one heck of a ride.......
I'm going in.....
Got him....ride cowboy ride!!!
It's time to hit the road and see what we can find!
It didn't take long to spot some interesting wildlife......

Our favorite by far were the beautiful zebras......
The zebras didn't just want a snack, they wanted to jump in the car, strap on a seatbelt, and become a part of our family.
I didn't think I could handle a zebra for a pet, so I declined!

We will call this zebra "Bob".
Bob took a liking to Chase and shared a few laughs!
Bob literally got nose to nose with Chase and being the animal lover Chase is....he was giggling up a storm!
That is until.....Bob let out a gigantic sneeze that covered Chase in zebra snot. Chase made a run for it, across the van and right into my arms.
He put his cheek next to mine and glared back at Bob.....if looks could talk, I guarantee he said, "what now Bob, I got my mommy, go on with your bad self and take those nasty zebra sneezes elsewhere!"

SeaWorld

Our last weekend in San Antonio was full of whales, sea lions, penguins, dolphins, and fun fun fun!!!

The whales were extremely captivating.................
Chase kept signing "water" but once the whales made their apperance, the spolight was stolen!

It really was magical to watch thier faces.............

The sea lion show was adorable and had us rollin!

Colby indulged the sea lions with a little fishy snack!

Then, the boys needed a little snack too!

It was hard to say good-bye to our water buddies!!
We are so thankful Coach & JoJo were able to join us, it's definitely a day we will always remember!!!

Ashes....a perfect ending to a CRAZY day!

When I say we had a crazy day....I mean Crazy with a capital C!!

You can imagine how it is staying in a hotel with a three and one year old, so we find something fun to go do everyday! Yesterday, we went to the park at 9:00 and there was an unexpected wind that graced our bodies with chill bumps, especially since the boys were sporting muscle shirts!

Chase is quite obsessed with birds, here he is trying to catch a few.....

He signs bird every time he spots one, which is all day.........

After bird chasing, we decided it was just too chilly at the park so we decided to visit The Witte Museum.

Chase made friends with a stingray!

Colby caught a few frogs!

The boys were having a blast, that is until our adventure took a nasty turn at the waterworks exhibit.

Notice, Chase leaning over to explore the water......

Notice, Chase nose-diving into the water......

I was trying to snap a pic of Colby and when I noticed Chase leaning in too far, I dropped my phone to grab Chase and it captured this unforgettable moment!

I just had to .....

Bless his heart.....I figured this would be a not so funny photo in the moment but a laughable experience for later in life!

I had to strip him down to his diaper and carry his

freezing booty

bleeding head

crying tale

all the way to the car!

Colby glances up at me with a pouty lip and says,

Mommy I'm so sad!

Me too baby, it makes me so sad that Chase got all wet and hurt his head.

No, Mommy I'm so sad we have to leave, Chase knew better than that!

Oh my....I bit my tongue and focused on Chase!

We arrived to the hotel, and I was so concerned to get Chase up to the room and taken care of that I actually left the

keys in the ignition

the motor running

and an open invitation to steal my beloved Oddy!

Thank the good Lord Oddy is still with us today since the invitation was open for 4 hours......yep, bye bye all my gas!

The day continued to throw craziness our way!

Next, a homeless man stole my wallet and then tried to convince me another man took it from my bag and he was so brave to retrieve it for me and deserved a reward.....I told you crazy with a capital C!!!

Thank Goodness yesterday was Ash Wednesday!!

Ahhhh the beginning of Lent!!

Lent is a season that reminds us to repent and get our lives centered, our priorities straight, and our hearts clean. This holy season offers us a new chance to say, "yes" to the Lover of our Souls who created us, who made us in his own image. Lent is the time for a restoration project that will reveal the beauty of God’s design for us, showing once again the scale, proportion, and priorities intended by our Maker.
Further, Lent is a season of hope and with ashes on our foreheads and hope in our hearts, we go forth to love and serve. For by God’s grace in Christ, we do not have to stay the way we are.
Stuart Malloy

Colby received his ashes and then knelt down to pray...out loud I might add!

Jesus Loves me this I know

for the bible tells me so

little ones to him belong

they are weak but he is strong!

A perfect ending to a CRAZY day!

Words Mean Everything

Each night at bedtime we read our books, say our prayers, and then play the "I love you" game. It sounds a little something like this......

I love you to the moon and back

I love you as big as the moon and the tallest tower ever

Well, I love you bigger than the biggest moon in the universe

Well, I love you to the moon and back and over the biggest, hugest tower in all the world

Colby really would do this for 30 minutes If I allowed it to continue!

Then, comes my favorite part!

I curl up next to him and we get nose to nose and I recite.......

I'm so thankful God gave me you!

Without you what would I do?

You make me so happy, I love you!

He smiles and replies, "I'm tankful Dod dave me you too!"

It's definitely a memory I will carry in my heart forever, take it to the grave!

I often wonder, does Colby listen to me...I mean REALLY listen to me. Does he soak up all the advice that I try to instill in him.......will he use it to shape the man he will one day be or does it just go in one ear and out of the other?

Last night we laid in the bed and played the "I love you" game. I was so tired that I  began to drift off to sleep before our ritual was over, but I quickly felt Colby's breath on my face.

"Mommy, I'm so tankful Dod dave me you!"

"Me too sweetheart, without you what would I do, you make me so happy, I love you!"

Maybe it's because I'm preggo, but I teared up as I pulled him closer to me. My heart was overwhelmed with pure happiness!

HE DOES LISTEN! He obviously anticipates my words each night that solidifies....

He belongs

He is unconditionally loved

He is a gift from God

Just when I started thinking my words don't mean a thing..........he showed me they mean EVERYTHING!

What Makes My Heart Skip a Beat?

Don't judge a SAHM when you see her out and about looking ROUGH! It's not feasible to look fab on most days. Actually, it's just not worth it! I can't waste an hour on getting dolled up.....Chase would be playing in the potty water on the floor after Colby caused an overflow from too much toilet paper!
That would just be one scenario that could play out and let's face it, me drying my hair and putting on makeup isn't worth starting our day in chaos!

Yesterday morning wasn't different than any other. After breakfast the boys started getting stir crazy, so I started getting us all dressed to head out to The Japanese Tea Garden! Colby has started dressing himself so that takes a good 20 minutes, leaving me time to get Chase dressed and lunch packed. I had just enough time to throw on some gym attire, run my fingers in my hair to form a ponytail, and luckily brush my teeth......no time to even wash my face, hello Mrs. Puffy eyes!!

I wasn't really concerned, after all I'm in San Antonio and I don't know a sole that I will ever see again....who cares if I look like something the cat drug in.

We made our way to the elevator and the doors opened to reveal two extremely tall, handsome men in suites greeting us with a "good morning!"

Of course, the day I look like death....Oh well, I was just hoping they wouldn't look too close at the sleep still in my eyes!

The elevator stopped at the next floor and what do you know.....five more tall, handsome men in suites squeeze onto our elevator and began to mingle with the others. It was so crowded that Colby was on his bike on the other side and couldn't see me anymore.

Colby looks up and yells, "mommy, do you see these big, huge people?"  "I need you right now, I need to get to you!"

The men definitely got  a laugh, and Colby ruined my plan of sitting in the corner and hoping not to be noticed!

We made it to the lobby only to find a room full of Canada's Hockey Team!

If you are single, you should have been there! Lots of young hockey jocks to choose from!

Do I wish I wouldn't have looked like poop......after thinking about it,  NO!

I could careless!

Sure they were all bulked up, tall, and handsome.......and did I mention a professional athlete!

But it didn't mean a hill of beans to me.......I'm sure the feeling was mutual.

Do you want to know what really makes my heart skip a beat and takes my breath away?

When my gorgeous husband walks through the door everyday after work and has two adorable boys hanging from his neck.........the uniform is just a bonus!
