Balloon Glow

We went to the Balloon Glow on July 3rd. The boys looked at the balloons for about a second but were more interested in playing with each other and eating snow cones. We tried to stay for the fireworks, but the boys couldn't take it any longer and had to go home for bed, maybe next year!

sounds like a book i would really like. i completely agree with both "mistake" points the book is making! i watch friends and family frantically pumping Biblical information of all sorts into their childrens brains and mouths, none of which they are able to understand yet, and none of which goes past the brain and the mouth and soaks into their heart. i truly believe in modeling as a primary means of sharing faith (to all people, but especially one's own children). of course there is a time for talking about it, but only at their pace and their level of understanding. until then, let them watch YOU live your faith. this is one reason i wish churches were more open to letting children into worship services--they need to witness their parents obeying in community worship and see that it is important enough to do faithfully every week. i have often compared children learning faith to a mother-child relationship. maybe i'll write about it on my blog soon! see you soon!
