Wisteria Bed & Breakfast- Our Love Shack

Chris gave me the best Christmas gift ever........

A night at Wisteria Inn!!

Wisteria is a special place to us since we shacked up there on our wedding night....such sweet memories!

Look how beautiful.....makes my heart skip a beat!!

What else could I ask for,
uninterrupted conversation on a pallet in front of a toasty fire with the love of my life........PERFECTION!!
I had a little anxiety about going away overnight. It was the first time to leave Chase and it was really hard since he is such a mama's boy. My mom said he woke up every hour on the hour....bless his little heart and bless my mom too! He isn't ready to be separated from me just yet so it might be a while before we get away again!
I was beyond thrilled about getting to sleep through the night and maybe even sleeping in the next morning (first time in 11 months....holy moly)! My plan didn't quite pan out! Chase often wakes up during the night and nurses right back to sleep. Well, I assumed he wasn't even eating but  rather nursing  to soothe himself back to sleep but apparently he is chowing down at night. Around 7:00 am I woke up in pain from engorgement.

Picture this.....
Elegant bed, cozy fire, and me hand-expressing milk into a wine glass to alleviate the pain......picture perfect huh?

It might not sound like a scene from Sleepless in Seattle but it was a dream night for me, after all it was a sweet reminder of my wonderful life that was waiting on me to return home!  As we pulled away from our special place I couldn't help but think about the last time we left Wisteria, almost 8 years ago. We were newlyweds about to catch a plane to the Bahamas without a care in the world!!
I jokingly asked Chris if we were headed to the airport for my real Christmas surprise? He replied, "ummm no!"
I starred out of the window and thought about how much God has changed our life since our last stay at Wisteria and wondering what changes would take place before we return again.

Honeymoon #2 didn't conclude with late night walks on the beach, but we did ride around town looking at old houses....I love the character of old houses. Yep, I found the house I want to build one day! Isn't it a beauty?

We didn't leave this little town as newlyweds jetting off to spend 7 days at a luxury resort but when I returned to my haven, I was welcomed with a "I miss you mommy" and Chase walking towards me as fast as possible with his little arms reaching up and I thought to myself,

there is nowhere else I would rather be!!!

Until Next Time......
