Easter 2010

Get the deodorant on because the next few days are going to be busy busy busy!!!
Thursday we had the most beautiful weather so if we were awake we were outside.

When daddy got home we grilled out and then headed to the Florence Easter Egg hunt. Last year Colby only got one egg, so Chris had a strategic plan and taught Colby how to throw an elbow (just kidding) and this year he improved to 10 eggs. When they say on On Your Mark, Get Set, Go.....it is a herd of out control kiddos! Colby did great but he has to pick up some speed before next year....he was too worried about checking out what was in each egg instead of grabbing as many as possible and then exploring.

Chris was off work Friday so we thought it would be nice to take the boys to the park. Colby wanted to play with his girlfriend, Kate, so we met them at the Laurel Park in Belhaven (such a cute park)!
Colby and Kate have a love-hate relationship. Colby talks about her all the time and always wants to go play. The night before Easter I asked Colby
Me: What do you want the Easter Bunny to bring you?
Colby: Yea
Me: what about hot wheels?
Colby: No
Me: ummmm candy?
Colby: No
Me: Really? How about Mickey Mouse or dinosaurs?
Colby: No
Me: Well what in the world do you want him to bring?
Colby: Kate peez!!
Me: Baby, he can't bring Kate because she won't fit in your basket but we will go play with her, ok!!
He loves Kate so of course he has to torture her, right????
They were playing in the sandbox and Colby noticed Kate bending over, so he thought it was an invitation to pour sand down her pants. Kate didn't think this was funny at all and preceded to holler for help! Kim had to strip her down and get the sand out of her butt crack.
I really think Colby thought she would enjoy it since he dumped sand in his pants the previous day and thoroughly enjoyed it!!
He said, "sorry Tate, it's otay" and gave her a hug! They mended their relationship and had a lunch date.

Chase slept the whole time we were at the park and then relaxed......what a life!
We went home, put the boys down for nap, and then assembled the trampoline that Gammy & Pawpaw Mike got Colby for Easter. Chris was super excited and let me just say, I'm actually sore from jumping so much!

Colby is a jumping machine! I think this is a great way for him to burn some energy.

Chase watched all the action and did what he does best......laugh & smile!

Easter Morning

Colby was up at 6:30 and didn't waste any time diving into his basket.

The Easter Bunny brought Chase this adorable Mickey Lovey. Colby has Binky and chase will have Mickey.......I love it!

Ready for church

The Kosek family joined us for lunch and egg hunting, and we were so glad to have them celebrate Easter with us!

Both boys slept from 1:00-3:30 (ohhh much needed quiet time) and then we lounged around outside being lazy for the rest of the afternoon.
Check out that double chin......I could kiss it all day long!

We ended the night with the Resurrection Eggs to tell the story of Easter. He was showing me the nails that nailed Jesus to the cross.
Dressing up, gift baskets, candy, and egg hunting are all things that make Easter fun, but Jesus Christ is the reason for the Easter Celebration, and I pray that we do our job to make sure our boys don't forget it!!!!

Great post! We had so much fun with you guys on Sunday. Thanks for having us over, and making such a delicious spread. We will have to make it a tradition! (Except I can do all the cooking next year...that just wouldn't be fair :)

So wonderful! Our babies are alot alike. Elise just wanted to look inside each egg she found also...instead of gathering more! they're so silly.

My girls got a trampoline for Easter too from their E. We are super excited! They LOVE it and I definitely agree with you-much needed energy burning!
